For identifying the young talents and promote them by providing performance opportunities, a series of festivals namely, NAVODIT were organized during the financial year 2014-15.
Navodit – Festival of Music and Dance
A festival of Music and Dance of young talents from the member states of EZCC was organized from 2nd to 4th August, 2014, at Premchand Rangshala , Patna. The festival presented Odishi, Bharatnatyam, Kathak, Sattriya, Manipuri and Chhau dances from Odisha, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Manipur, Assam and folk dances and music from Sikkim and Assam. About 30 young talents benefitted.
Navodit –Theatre Festival
A festival of plays by young theatre directors of Tripura was organized at Town Hall Khowai, Tripura from 10-15 November 2014. The festival was followed by an interaction with the young artists. The eminent theatre personality Shri Niranjan Goswami from Kolkata and Shri Subodh Pattnaik from Odisha were present during the festival for participating in interaction session. Twelve young theatre directors participated.
Navodit – Festival of Young Talents in the field of Music and Dance, Bhubaneswar
Festival of young talents in the field of music and dance was organized and World Music Day was celebrated in collaboration with Department of Culture, Government of Odisha and Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi from 21 – 23 June, 2015 at Bhanjakala Mandap, Bhubaneswar. In this festival, young talented Performers from various parts of Eastern Zone participated. The festival was inaugurated by Shri Ashok Chandra Panda, Hon’ble Minister, Tourism & Culture, Odisha in the presence of Shri Dhirendranath Mallick, Secretary, Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi and Dr. Om Prakash Bharti, Director, EZCC. Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, IAS, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Department of Tourism & Culture, Odisha, Shri Ranjit Mohanty, OAS (SAG), Director, Department of Culture, Odisha, Smt. Trupti Das, President, Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi and Shri Ramhari Das, Vice – President, Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi also graced the occasion.

A festival of plays directed by young Theatre Directors was organized at Natya Mandir, Sivsagar, Assam from 1 – 12 July, 2015. The festival presented 14 plays directed by young Directors namely, Itibratyo Katha directed by Kalpana Barua, Swikarokti directed by Manimala Das, Prof. Kelfa’s Factory directed by Manebendra Choudhury, Aamityu Amrit directed by Jyoti Prashad Bhuyan, Ultimate Fly directed by Bidyutjit Chakraborty, Post Box directed by Dony Handique, Basavdutta directed by Seujpriya Borthakur, Maha Sunyar Uddyan directed Gautam Sarma, Biswabishruta directed by Jogiraj Chakrabarty, Boga Maina directed by Anupam Kaushik Bora, Atma Katha directed by Biplob Borkakoti, E’l Gene’ Do:mi’ra Ngolim Dunkoke Bi directed by Dibakar Pegu, Natmethia directed by Randhir Kumar and Mandar – The Tell of Tea directed by Anirban B. Gohain.

A festival of plays by young theatre Directors was organized in collaboration Department of Culture, Government of Tripura from 18 – 24 and 26 August, 2015 at Nazrul Kalashetra Auditorium, Agartala, Tripura. The festival presented 8 plays directed by young Theatre Directors namely, Khandava Katha directed by Indira Sarkar, Ohono Samay Aachhe directed by Subhash Goswami, Ishan Kumarir Mandas directed by Anirban Chakraborty, Utna Kuplaba Mei directed by K. Abhishek Sinha, Ichhamati directed by Abhijit Das, Parabash directed by Milan Deb, Kothoma Chirangada Ni directed by Akhanda Jamatia & Bishal Debbarma and Mahatirtha Kalighat directed by Manika Bhowmick & Tanuja Roy. The festival was inaugurated by Shri Pabitra Kar, Hon’ble Deputy Speaker, Tripura Legislative Assembly, Shri Santanu Das, IAS, Secretary, ICA, Government of Tripura and Shri Ajit Majumdar, Senior Drama Director.
Navodit-Festival of Young Talents in the field of Music and Dance, West Bengal
Navodit was organized at Srijani, Santiniketan from 20 – 24 September 2015. In this festival more than 65 artists from various parts of Eastern Zone participated. Young talented Performers, Recipients of Scholarship, Junior/ Senior Scholarship from Ministry of culture, Govt. of India and also the empanelled artists of AIR and Doordarshan.
The festival was followed by painting exhibition and workshop on ‘Abhinay Chari’ conducted by Guru Jayant Kastuar.
Navodit was inaugurated by Veteran Kathak Guru Jayanth Kastuvar, Prof. O.P.Bharti, Director, EZCC, Prof. Tarak Sengupta, Prof.Nikhilesh Chowdhury, Prof.Nikhil Ranjan Roy, R.K.Bhattacharya, Ex- Director of EZCC and Senior Odissi Performer Monalisa Ghosh
Along the festival we were honored to have the presence of Dr. Mahua Mukherjee, Dean, Rabindrabharati University, Guru Aloka Kanungo, Guru Sutapa Talukdar, Guru Keya Chanda, Shri Amitabha Chattopadhyay and Dr. Anuja Supriya.

A festival of plays by young theatre Directors was organized in collaboration with Department of Art, Culture, Sports & Youth Affairs, Government of Jharkhand and Ranchi University from 27 – 30 September, 2015 at Arya Bhatta Auditorium, Ranchi. The festival presented 7 plays directed by young Directors namely, Ek Ajnabi directed by Munmun Chakraborty, Gabarghichor directed by Parvin Kumar Gunjan, Aadhi Haqeekat directed by Divya Sahay, Budhha Bachcha directed by Prity Sagar, Byaghra Rohan directed by Nalini Nihar Nayak, Munna directed by Rishikesh Lal and Yamraj Ka Hukum directed by Ashutosh Anand. The festival was inaugurated on 27 September, 2015 by Shri Amar Kumar Bauri, Hon’ble Cultural Minister, Government of Jharkhand, Shri Avinash Kumar, IAS, Secretary, Department of Art, Culture, Sports & Youth Affairs, Government of Jharkhand and Dr. Ramesh Kumar Pandey, Vice Chancellor, Ranchi University.
